The World’s Greatest Holiday Shopping ListMost of you are all familiar with my Etsy shop, but I wonder how many of you know about a great Etsy feature that you might just use yourself this holiday season?I’m talking about the “Favorites” feature on Etsy. Although it’s not meant to be specifically a wish list for holiday shopping, you can easily use it to your advantage that way. It’s simple. Just login to your Etsy account (if you don’t have one, registering is simple and requires no detailed personal information beyond your e-mail address and name), and then browse around to find things you love. When you come upon an item of interest, within the listing description you’ll see a link on the lower right side that says “Add Item to Favorites.” Just click that link and the item will be marked as a “favorite.” Now here’s the fun part. When your husband or sister or best friend or mother asks what you might like as a gift this holiday season, you can point them to your list. All they have to do is type your Etsy ID name in their browser, followed by ".etsy.com." (For example, my username is fearlessfibers, so my URL is: http://fearlessfibers.etsy.com) Even if you don’t have a shop on Etsy, a page still comes up and on that page there is a link that says, “Favorites.” There, your gift-giving loved ones can find your wish list. How cool is that?! Today I have the pleasure of featuring WanderlustNpixiedust!

After entering her shop, I feel like I had just visited a

flea market in Gent or in Bordeaux! (My favorite ones!)

WANDERLUST loves antique and vintage everything. Just like me! Clothing, jewelry, linens, textiles, anything beveled, books, ephemera, you name it. The older the better. In her spare time she likes to dabble in all things crafty.

From her etsy shop I find quite interesting these soldered pendants she makes using antique cards, for instance, of religious iconography. Very much in the spirit of the little „Santinhas“ (Saints) we sometimes add to our jewelry at ContasBrasil.

Of course I’m fascinated by the vintage glass beads she offers!

Exquisite colors that inspire me right away.

She has recently begun a blog of her own where she shares bits and pieces of the buried treasure she’s collected over the years. And I must say whem I look at it, that Wanderlust has a collection one can’t help but simply envy!

I love to read Wanderlust’s descriptions! It’s so very true! The moment you decide to part from something, you realize how unique exactly that one little piece is...and maybe „doch“ will decide to keep it. But that’s only because what she has to offer are truly hard-to-find items, collected with love over a period of time.
For instance, this lovely little antique metal frame. The image you see in the photo is just a piece of tissue paper that she inserted into the frame to get an idea of how it would look. Of course after she did this she was tempted to keep it!!Just lovely!

I also love the way she describes her beautiful postcards!

„...All original, unused, vintage postcards from the wild and crazy flapper era. These are wonderful to use in altered art projects. And since these are in such great condition,

I would highly recommend keeping them as is. Preferably you will just scan these into your computer to use over and over again.“

- LANDSCAPES

Photography is Tiffany’s passion! No doubt about it! One can tell from looking at her impressive works. She transmits so much feeling through her photos that it warms one’s heart!
Her landscape photos take me directly to the romantic landscape painters and L’école de Barbizon. Her photos have a strong connection to the work of a dear friend of mine, a brazilian artist called Francisco Faria, whose drawings are full of such references. Take a look:

Tiffany has loved photography since she was given a 110 camera at the age of 7, to capture memories on a family trip. She studied ballet, (like me), creative writing, and art in high school. She graduated from the University of Maine at Augusta with both an Associate of Arts in Photography (Magna cum Laude) in 2000 and a Bachelor of Arts Joint BA in Art and Photography (Magna cum Laude) in 2002.

Katie Lyn is a self proclaimed paper craft addict. you can tell she really means it when she writes that she loves embellishments and I does not spare any expense when creating special items. One can see her love for detail!!

I just love this combination of vintage prints and fancy ribbons! Just a delight!

Katie is originally from the West Coast. She grew up in Oregon, was educated in California and lived the last 13 years in Montana. She recently moved to KCMO because she met the love of her life and they are now living "Happily Ever After" in the land of humidity.

All of her creations are handmade in her art studio. Her studio and surroundings are clean and smoke free. She does have kitties to try to help often, but I limit their access to projects for sale.

Following on from an earlier thread about promotion… I wanted to introduce to you ‘DaWanda Promo’ bags. Many other on-line shopping sites have similar collaborations like this too and from what I understand it works quite well for the artisans involved. The initial idea for DaWanda promos was raised by MagicPumpkinsandFaeryDust who was looking to collect together our promotional material to show off at Fairs and shows, but we’ve got together and would now like to extend this further.

The idea is now two fold:On-line -
Promos will be handled by me (Sara) at http://en.dawanda.com/shop/sarastexturecrafts – These will be sold through my shop for the cost of the bag I buy to pack promos in.UK Shows and Fairs -

What we need are your:

Each item you send should be clearly labelled with your DaWanda shop and all items should fit into a small bag approximately 15cm deep and 10cm wide.
